Principal Investigator & Surgeons (Cps) In HIV,  Jaslok Hospital Mumbai

Dr. Om Shrivastav had completed his training in M.D. ( Medicine ) from India. He then commenced his training in Sydney, Australia where he trained at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Liverpool Hospital & Royal North Shore Hospital.

 

Dr. Shrivastav lives in south Mumbai with his wife and children, and practices Infectious Diseases, HIV medicine and Immunology. He travels both internationally and across the country as an invited speaker at multiple platforms and forums.

 

 

IN AUSTRALIA

Liverpool Hospital

Department of Infectious Diseases supervised the final phases of Linezolid against resistant MRSA. Liverpool Hospital was actively involved in the trial and was one of three global centres. Linezolid has been approved for use in Australia since 2002.

 

1592 – Abacavir before being approved for treatment of HIV dementia was trialed at St. Vincent’s Hospital, which included description of hypersensitivity syndrome and no rechalllenge protocol for Ababcavir.

 

Liverpool Hospital was also involved in evaluating relative efficacy of lipid membrane preparations of anphotericin ambisome and ableset in relapsing cryptococcosis, especially in patients with intracranial involvement.

IN INDIA

Principal Investigator, RALTEGRAVIR – newest group of drug in treatment of HIV, approved for use in 2010. Jaslok Hospital Mumbai was selected for trial. Concluded successfully after five years.

Post graduate teacher for Collage of Physicians and Surgeons (CPS) in HIV.

Wochardt Harvard AIDS Research Foundation (WHARF)

In collaboration with Harvard Medical School, was faculty in training doctors in clinical aspects of HIV over period of three years.

INFECON, International conference in Infectious Diseases and HIV conducted in March 2011 in Mumbai under his supervision and in his capacity as Chairperson, INFECON.

INFECON held again in 2013 in Mumbai under Dr. Shrivastav as Chairperson.
